For Nuit Blanche 2024, ATA Architects Inc. were looking to submit the design of a large-scale interactive installation for their application for Nuit Blanche 2024. 

In 2024, Nuit Blanche were taking applications for their designs that met their theme "Bridging Distance”. A focus on the way humans connect with each other and communicate in the modern world. How we “bridge the distance” in every way whether that be physically or metaphorically and exploring those bridges and perhaps even finding a canyon where a bridge needs to be built in the first place.

I proposed this design with the intent of creating a unique and dynamic space that highlights the individuality of each person who enters the “pods” through colour changing sensors. When an individual enters the pod, the light swirls, changes and then travels from the top of the structure and down through the illuminated tubes. The colours blend with the colours of the adjacent pods and therefore change their colours. Just as we come into the lives of those around us and have a butterfly effect of changes on those we interact with and how we shape and recolour their ideals.

This project allowed me to merge my expertise in immersive storytelling with spatial design, resulting in a memorable public art piece that has the possibility of engaging hundreds of viewers throughout the night.
